UK: 1) What is the definition of 'Ulster Unionist'? 2) Who ever thought Arlene Foster could be an impartial leader? 3) Why is she holding the country to ransom and not stepping aside thus holding up the working of the assembly? 4) Does she expect more votes in a second election? 5) Does she still not get the message that many of the DUP supporters want her to go!
Done deal! The high price of Government? The Conservative Party and Democratic Unionist Party have agreed a deal which will keep Theresa May in power for the time being. What's the latest news from N. Ireland - Are people leaving A. Foster for a more moderate Unionist party?
Are you glad we English have the DUP in our government? While May has her arms open for Arlene the other Ulster parties have rejected her and will not work with her but want her to stand down until the investigation for corruption is over. Who is the DUP? Arlene (Lady Macbeth) Foster or A. F and party? No man in the party seems to have the ba**s to stand up to her. Regardless of the deal she gets in London this is one problem she will have to confront on her return and having been to No 10 she will NOT want to step aside therefore Ulster can look forward to continuing without an assembly and the stalemate continuing or as Arlene threatened - return to direct rule which could be the beginning of some big problems. If Arlene is really big enough and thinking of the country she should step aside as Robinson did and let the investigation go ahead otherwise her time spent in London will have been a complete waste of time, for Ulster!

Implications in crossing the Ireland/Northern Ireland land border for an American My fiancee is a us citizen, she recently arrived at dublin airport where her passport was stamped with a 90 day visa. However her final destination is Northern Ireland (where i live) she needs a Uk border stamp. As she hasn't gotten the stamp is she here illegally? She will be staying with me for around 5 months which is more than the 90 days she was given in Ireland. So when we depart from Dublin to go back to America, they will think she has been staying in ireland illegally. Is there anyway around this problem?

Driving in Ireland and Northern Ireland I am going on a road trip for ten days in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. I read the various posts about adapting to driving on the left side. I am aware of the difference in speed indication in km/h and mph. I also read about speed limits and drunk driving laws. I booked a rental car with fully comprehensive insurance in Dublin. I am planning to got to Northern Ireland and back.My question is, are there any other things to care about when driving in Ireland? E.g. (dangerous) road conditions, radar/speed control, local driving habits, fuel/gas stations (payment/credit cards), animals, driving license (German), weather, etc.?(In Iceland, for example, one has to pay for every animal (e.g., sheep) damaged in car accidents.)
