NASA's James Webb Telescope Survives Cryogenic Freezing—Just How Hardy Is the Alien Detecting Telescope?

Just last week, NASA announced the alien-hunting James Webb Space Telescope had passed its latest round of cryogenic testing. Yesterday, deputy project manager Paul Geithner explained all to Eric Vilard of NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center. Trending: Who is David Ermold? 06-12-17

We might find out when the ( and if0 the James Webb Space Telescope sees first light. The observable Universe may become much bigger.. Right the cosmic microwave background radiation from the event horizon of the expanding universe is the first light...
Which is better for deep sky object viewing and also their photography...reflector telescope or refractor telescope?
For astronomic purposes the minimum you need is a 4 inch REFLECTOR telescope. Do NOT buy a refractor telescope.
Buy a new telescope yours sucks. Like NASA would miss it?
Don't believe NASA!?.....go to a store, Buy a telescope, Look through it, unless You are blind, or mentally challenged,,,,, ( while observing other Planets, you'll notice they are ALL round! )
Because that's how the optics of most telescopes works, not just Cassegrain microscopes.. The telescope would need another lens, which adds more mass , to turn the image fight side up.. Many Celestron telescopes are NOT Cassegrain telescopes. Cassegrain telescopes are pretty pricey. Edit: OK After watching Some you tube videos about this particular Telescope, That's reflecting Newtonian telescope with an equatorial mount with two mirrors and one lens and the image is SUPPOSE to be upside down.. Yes, you CAN get another lens to turn the image right side up, But the the additional lens will asorb some of the light and reduce the contrast. and it is possible THAT lens MIGHT have chromatic aberration. i would be surprised if the Barlow has chromatic aberration problems., objects have rainbows around them even when they are in focus.. "...The Image is Upside-Down There are three possible causes for this. One, the image is rightside-up and you are upside-down, but this should be apparent (one would hope). Secondly, you could have a Newtonian telescope. A Newtonian has the eyepiece sticking out the side of the tube, near the front of the telescope. This type of telescope is ideal for stargazing, but does give an inverted image, making terrestrial viewing difficult. Unfortunately, there is really no fix for this--except standing on your head (see cause number one). Lastly, a telescope such as a refractor or Schmidt-Cassegrain can give a correct image for terrestrial viewing. However, if the diagonal is rotated so the eyepiece is horizontal, the image will flip. The eyepiece must be kept straight up and down for the image to appear right side-up...."

Working on Hubble telescope for NASA a 'surreal' experience says Lakehead University grad Colette Lepage made her dream of working for NASA come true. Those experiences included work on the Hubble Space Telescope , which launched aboard the space shuttle Discovery from Kennedy Space Center in Florida on April 24, 1990. Lepage spoke about her path to NASA and her work there at several events at Lakehead University this past week.

When does the James webb telescope come out? At this time (early 2014), the James Webb Space Telescope is scheduled to launch during October of 2018 .
What will the James Webb telescope detect? Webb will find the first galaxies that formed in the early Universe, connecting the Big Bang to our own Milky Way Galaxy. Webb will peer through dusty clouds to see stars forming planetary systems, connecting the Milky Way to our own Solar System. Webb's instruments will be designed to work primarily in the infrared range of the electromagnetic spectrum, with some capability in the visible range.
When will be the James webb telescope launched? It is not sure yet. But NASA has predicted the date to be as between 2014 and 2015.
What new telescope is nasa going to launch when the hubble space telescope falls back to earth? The James Webb Space Telescope is scheduled for launch in 2018. The Webb telecope is not a direct replacement for the Hubble. The Hubble has been so reliable since its launch in April, 1990, that it's expected to function through 2014, and possibly as long as 2020.
Why is the James webb telescope to be fully assembled and tested before being launched?
What type of telescope is the Webb telescope?
Which telescope do you recommend Zhumell Zenith 60x600 Telescope OR Celestron PowerSeeker 60 Telescope? It's largely a matter of features and construction.Basically, the Zhumell uses a "camera tripod", which uses a "joystick" for aiming the scope. It's very "handy", but... it tends to "shift" the aim, a bit, when you "lock it down". It works ok, but... there are no "granular" adjustments, in any axis, so "tracking" a moving "object" (eg. the stars, etc) can be challenging.By comparison, the Celestron uses separate declination (eg. up/down) and azumith (left/right) controls, and the declination does have a "granular" adjustment. So, as with the "joystick", it works ok, but, again, "tracking" a mo

Reflecting telescopes are popular because they're a more powerful than a refraction telescope b smaller than a refracting telescope c easier to build than a refraction telescope d more durable?
