A year ago the economy was a big fat ugly bubble But today the economy is in better shape than ever before thanks to Trump. Is that correct?
A year ago the economy was a big fat ugly bubble But today the economy is in better shape than ever before thanks to Trump. Is that correct? No. There's no magic where the economy goes from bubble to strong. And no, the current economy isn't due to Trump. He inherited a strong economy due to the previous eight years. Obama did better in his first year than Trump has this past year.
How come libs call Trump dumb when his economy is pushing four percent growth with market booming? I wouldn't call Trump dumb. Clearly he's done a few things right (or at least had good people working for him), to amass his fortune. (even though he's had multiple bankruptcies). I would call him narcissistic, reactionary, immature, boastful, and tone-deaf, but not dumb. In any case, I do find it baffling the way people are viewing the economy pre- and post- Trump's election. The reason being that really, very little has changed. We are continuing on the same trajectory that we were on before Trump's election. And that's great! The economy continues to improve, jobs continue to be created, and the unemployment rate continues to fall. Other economic indicators show improvement as well. But the idea that there has been some kind of massive "turnaround" in the economy simply isn't the case. It's more like Republicans have gone from not believing economic data, to not just believing it, but reveling in it and boasting about it, as if it's some kind of new thing that wasn't there before. Here's just one example: Employment growth has averaged 174,000 per month so far this year. That's great. Excellent in fact, but keep in mind, that 2016's average was 187,000.

In 2020 will you (US Citizens) be better off than in 2016? To my surprise, I paid half of the federal income taxes in the first paycheck of this year than I did at the end of last. Keep it up GOP, you'd win me back i the economy DOES indeed roar. It's always nice to take home more of one's own earned wages. Trump 2020? We'll see. They have a long way to go. 2016 was about as bad as it could ever get for me. Bad year, irrespective of the election. The proverbial question, "Are you better off than you were four years ago?" Odds are, yes. ~Aizen
Do you think Trump has done a good job so far? You're pretty dim witted if you think Trump has anything to do with today's strong economy. Do you give Trump credit for the strong economy in 2015? 2016?

A year after Trump's election, what are Democrats' chances in 2018? A year after his election win, Donald Trump's woes are mounting Where were you when Donald Trump won the presidency? The election of a real estate mogul and TV star to the White House a year ago is deemed a historic moment for supporters and critics alike. Finally, America had the outsider it needed to smash the establishment – or a uniquely unqualified egotist, depending on your stance. Mr Trump certainly has not disappointed on the entertainment front, with much of his tenure dominated by the sound and light of a first-time politician coming to terms with power. Some campaign pledges have fallen by the

A year after election, poll has Trump lower than any president in decades A new poll, released a year after Donald Trump's stunning electoral victory, shows the US president suffering historically dismal approval ratings as the Russia investigation casts a continuing shadow. The next highest disapproval rating among presidents stretching back to Dwight Eisenhower was 41 percent, for Bill Clinton, in 1993. The poll comes as Trump faces a daunting array of political and legal challenges, led by the investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller into possible collusion between Trump's campaign and Russia.

Does diverging attitudes towards Slovenia coincide with Trump's election? Which Country Is America’s Strongest Ally? For Republicans, It’s Australia mentions that Slovenia is one of the countries which Republicans most favourably view compared to Democrats. I can understand most of the other countries where there's a difference, such as Australia, Israel, Russia, Zimbabwe, Cuba, and the Palestinian Territories. I checked whether there was possibly a generalised divergence in Eastern European countries, just like there was for Russia, but I couldn't spot it. Instead, the only hypothesis I have is that it's to do with the wife of Republican president Donald Trump being from Slovenia. Has divergence in views on Slovenia coincided with Trump's rise to power, and if so, is it Republicans, Democrats, or both who have changed their opinion on Slovenia? Are there any other explanations for the divergence in views?
